Distribution of terms of a logarithmic sequence∗

چکیده
The number L(a, b) = a−b ln a−ln b for a 6= b and L(a, a) = a, is said to be the logarithmic mean of the positive numbers a, b. We shall say that a sequence (an) ∞ n=1 with positive terms is a logarithmic sequence if an = L(an−1, an+1). In the present paper some basic estimations of the terms of logarithmic sequences are investigated.

Fitting of Species Frequency Distribution Models in Woody Societies in Rangelands of Gouradarah, Gechigiran Ahar
One of the important goals of natural resource management is to conserve plant diversity in the ecosystem so that sites are more productive and more ecologically stable at the various situations. Different diversity indices have been presented to study the species status of natural ecosystems. One of these indicators is the use of empirical distribution models that each of these models ind...
متن کاملA New Class of Zero-Inflated Logarithmic Series Distribution
Through this paper we suggest an alternative form of the modified zero-inflated logarithmic series distribution of Kumar and Riyaz (Statistica, 2013) and study some of its important aspects. The method of maximum likelihood is employed for estimating the parameters of the distribution and certain test procedures are considered for testing the significance of the additional parameter of the model. ...
متن کاملMarkov Logarithmic Series Distribution and Estimation of its Parameters by Method of E-Bayesian
In the analysis of Bernoulli's variables, an investigation of the their dependence is of the prime importance. In this paper, the distribution of the Markov logarithmic series is introduced by the execution of the first-order dependence among Bernoulli variables. In order to estimate the parameters of this distribution, maximum likelihood, moment, Bayesian and also a new method which called the...
متن کاملApproximation by the Dickman distribution and quasi - logarithmic combinatorial structures ∗
Quasi-logarithmic combinatorial structures are a class of decomposable combinatorial structures which extend the logarithmic class considered by Arratia, Barbour and Tavaré (2003). In order to obtain asymptotic approximations to their component spectrum, it is necessary first to establish an approximation to the sum of an associated sequence of independent random variables in terms of the Dickm...
